Here in this place for the lost and lonely
Grey as a sky with a winters’ hue
A place for the ones who fall from society
Each one has a story, each one’s not new
When I was a boy, I didn’t think it would be like this
Now I’m a man, I’m ashamed that it’s still like this
The causes of downfall are wide and plenty
In cities and towns, and families too
The system in place to support this calamity
Depends on the kindness of me and you
Here in this place for the wretched and slovenly
Lucifer preys on the wasted few
Stale smoke and beer adds to the depravity
Sad sunken eyes greets the violence too
When I was a boy, I didn’t think it would be like this
Now I’m a man, I’m ashamed that it’s still like this
We all cry when we're faced with a tragedy
Dark is the world when we feel so alone
My heart died when I faced the reality
I scared myself right to the bone, the bone, the bone, the bone
Here in this place for the sad and broken
A sanctuary built to restore one’s soul
Shaking and cold I'm defeated by gravity
Is this my time, have I lost control?
Money and arms are a source of the savagery
Alcohol, drugs and religion too
Sanctuary points to a path to sobriety
A lifetime suggestion for me and you
When I was a boy, I didn’t think it would be like this
Now I’m a man, I’m ashamed that its still like this
We all cry when we're faced with a tragedy
Dark is the world when we feel so alone
My heart died when I faced the reality
I scared myself right to the bone
We all cry when we're faced with a mortality
Dark is the world when we feel so alone
My heart died when I faced the reality
I scared myself right to the bone, the bone, the bone, the bone
