Cover Up

Don’t really care for things today
I really want to have a say
I can’t control the way I feel now
It’s all too real now
We’ve lost our way

Your broken promises and lies
Your inability to ability to see reality
Your only motive is to cover up, cover up

The system that has shaped our lives has been around for years
In this democracy, they say we have a choice
I’d like to think that when I cast my cross that they would see
That I would like to think they know they work for me

What we need, is ‘Government’
To hold our heads up high
Work for us, and you will see
A nation filled with pride

The talk thats going all around
They’re sick and tired of the apathy
Self-serving members of the big house, and the other house
They’ve had their day

Your disregard for what’s gone wrong
The inconsistency of management
And when it suits you, you just cover up, cover up

A public servant has to serve the public faithfully
To represent the people thinking that you care
Civilisation needs the strength of true democracy
It all goes wrong when you ignore who put you there

We have no choice 
I’m in despair
Corruption reigns
The systems to blame
But I still care

The world’s gone mad
Makes me feel sad
Where did it go wrong
Modern life
It’s not where I belong

I did at one point in my life
Think one day I could be
A politician and would one day
Help my fellow man
My thoughts were always based on genuine humanity
Time to look forward, time to re-appraise the plan
