Secretly, Big Country had an alter ego that had two faces. One face was that of the acoustic street buskers: knocking out tunes whenever and where ever. Radio stations, dressing rooms, friends houses, my mums' living room, it didn't matter the songs could be played anywhere because they worked in that format. The other face was that of a cover band. We had all come from a background of playing in cover bands and used this device for our own entertainment until someone thought that it would be a good idea to record some and put them out as b'sides etc. (Prairie Rose and Don't Fear The Reaper come to mind, better than the originals in my opinion.) This DVD demonstrates our affection for playing other peoples tunes and enjoying playing with personal friends, guests and heroes, stripping away the perceived fame of the band and presenting the heart and soul of what Big Country was all about, friends making music.
