Welcome to the new Issue of the Country Club. f irstly, apologies for the incorrect Issue number last time (issue 49), it should have been Issue 45. So, welcome to Issue 46 of the country Club!! It has boon a rollercoaster 2 months since the last issue, and here you will be able to read a large chunk of what's been going on, and what is going to happen in the future. August and September have seen the release of the "Fragile Thing" single (where the band failed to chart, due to CD2 sales being banned by the chart regulator — more on that later), the band travelling to war torn Kosovo, the release of the new album 'Driving To Damascus', and a convention, along with much more, which we hope this issue shall bring you up to date on. Also in this issue, we have reports from the Perth gig, as well as reviews on the convention and the album, plus extracts from Bruce Watson's infamous Diary, which tells the story of the Bands trip to Kosovo last month. We also have the rumours and gossip surrounding BC from the Damascus News Desk, plus interview with Stuart Adamson, pictures and lots more. Plus the new single 'See You/Perfect World' is released on 25th October 1999, we need all of you to buy as many copies as you can, tell your friends and family, neighbours and work colleagues about it, this 2nd single from the album is vitally important, so persuade as many people as you can to buy it. Go out and buy all 3 formats of the new single in the first week of release and help it attain a high chart entry. Buy copies for your friends and family as Birthday presents or just as a simple present! The more copies bought (preferably in Chart Return Shops - HMV, Virgin, Tower, Our Price, Pinnacle shops etc.), the higher the band shall chart. You shall also find details of the forthcoming BC UK Tour in this issue, it promises to be a superb tour; you would be foolish to miss out! For up to date information on what's happening with the band, please check with the Big Country Phoneline on 0891 600031 (calls cost 60p per minute), or visit the Big Country Website on http://www.bigcountry.co.uk We welcome submission of articles, and would be pleased to hear your feedback on the CC, and any suggestions you may have. In the meantime, enjoy your reading, stay safe, stay free, stay happy, stay alive!! Willie (This issue of Country Club has been put together by Willie and TonyG, with help from Ali, Tara and Mazz. Also many thanks to everyone else who contributed to this issue.) ********.*********************** !!!!!!!! NEW SINGLE !!!!!!!! ********.*********************** CD1: See You / Perfect World / This Bloods For You (exclusive to this format - from Rockfield recording session from album session) CD2: See You / Perfect World / Camp Smedley Theme (exclusive to this format- HITW Recording) 7" Single: See You / Perfect World Both CD's have postcards exclusive to each CD (2 from Nashville, 2 from Kosovo), while 7" single is available in traditional Track Records White Sleeve. The third format is a 7" single at the request of HMV and Virgin Singles Buyers, as they said they would stock twice as many as 12", and 7" singles are also considered more collectable. Both the titles HAVE to be on all formats - a CIN ruling. We hope you will support the band again and get this single into the charts, and give the band the breakthrough they need. The video cut to Perfect World has 2 versions (one with Kosovo footage), and can be seen on VH1 and hopefully other channels soon. ************************* !!!!!!!!UK TOUR!!!!!!!! ************************** 6th December - Dublin Olympian 8th December - Newcastle City Hall 9th December - Wolverhampton Civic 11th December - Bristol University 12th December - London Forum 13th December - Manchester Academy 14th December - Glasgow Garage Tickets available from Big Country Website, and Box Offices.
